Raw Yogurt In The Instant-Pot
- 1 1 gallon (3.8L) of raw milk, from grass-fed cows
- 2 tbsp (30g) of plain store-bought yogurt with active cultures
1. Pour the raw milk into the inner pot of the Instant Pot.
2. Press the "Sauté" button.
3. While whisking the milk often bring the milk temperature to 180F then let it cool down.
4. Once the yogurt has cooled to room temperature approx.… 115F, add 2 tablespoons of plain store-bought yogurt with active cultures to the cooled yogurt and stir until well-combined
6. Cover the Instant Pot and press the "Yogurt" button. Adjust the temperature setting to "Low" and set the timer for another 6 1/2 hours.
7. After 8 hours, the Instant Pot will beep to let you know that the yogurt is done.
8. Carefully remove the inner pot from the Instant Pot and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours, or until the yogurt has set.
9. I like to transfer my yogurt into a greek yogurt maker and place it in the fridge to chill( it is a special stainer that I love myself).
10. Pour into your favorite glass container and keep it in the fridge.
Serve the yogurt with your favorite toppings or use it in recipes that call for yogurt.
